About Pets in Pencil by Carrie Bratton

I am an artist and musician based in Petts Wood in Kent, UK.

I grew up in the Essex countryside and this has left me with a deep love of nature, woodlands and animals.

I have always enjoyed art in many and varied forms but in more recent years I have developed my skills as a pencil artist particularly with colour pencils, but also in graphite and occasionally using ink pens.

My passion is drawing animals and wildlife flora and fauna. I always enjoy pet portraiture. It is something with so many sides to it, from creating memorial pieces, to celebrating a beloved pet who is still at the centre of a clients home, it is always a great pleasure to spend time learning about their personality through the drawings I create.

I spend much of my time playing and teaching music alongside my drawing, looking after my husband, John, and our pets, Fang (the Japanese Chin X Pekingese), Menny the cat and a multitude of Koi fish.
